Split PDF by Pages

Split a PDF into single pages or custom ranges in your browser and save them as a ZIP, nothing uploaded.

Split PDF by Pages

Drop a PDF here or choose a file

One PDF at a time. Nothing is uploaded, everything happens on this device.

How it works

  1. Open your PDF. Drop it on the page or pick it. It is read into this tab's memory and never leaves your device. Password-protected PDFs are not supported.
  2. Choose how to cut it. Every page as its own file, your own ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8-end, or fixed chunks of N pages. The list shows each file name and its pages before anything runs.
  3. Split and save. New PDFs are built in your browser. Download them one by one or all together as a ZIP.

Questions, answered

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Split PDF by Pages runs entirely in your browser. Your PDF is read into memory on your device, split with JavaScript, and never sent to a server, which matters for bank statements, contracts and scans. You can disconnect from the internet and it keeps working.

How do I extract just a few pages into one PDF?

Choose Custom ranges, type the pages you want, for example 2, 5-7, and tick Merge ranges into one file. You get a single PDF with those pages in that order. Ranges can overlap, so a page you list twice appears twice.

What range formats are accepted?

Single pages (4), ranges with a hyphen or en dash (1-3 or 1–3), the word end for the last page (5-end), and commas between groups. Spaces and a trailing comma are fine. A backwards range like 5-3 or a page past the end is flagged under the field instead of guessed.

Is it really free?

Yes. It is open source under the MIT license, with no account, no daily limits and no ads. If it saves you a paid subscription, you can say thanks on Ko-fi.

Does it work offline?

Yes. After your first visit the page is cached by a service worker, so it loads without a connection. You can also install it from your browser's menu as an app.

Was this written by AI?

Yes. Split PDF by Pages was generated by Claude Code from a written specification inside an automated pipeline, with a test suite that runs in a real browser. The full source is on GitHub, so you can read every line before you trust it with your files.
